Surgical Procedure

The procedure to reduce the labia minora lasts approximately 2 hours and is performed using magnifying glasses to ensure perfect approximation of the labial edges. The procedure is not extremely complicated, but it is meticulous.

Important aspects:

  • Very short procedures (30 minutes) are avoided, as they can cause deforming scars and pain
  • It is usually performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia combined with intravenous sedation

Healing

  • Resumption of normal activities and work: 5–7 days postoperatively
  • Resumption of sexual activity: approximately 6 weeks postoperatively
