Gynecomastia treatment

Purpose

Gynecomastia represents the excessive accumulation of adipose tissue (fat) or glandular tissue in the male breasts. This condition can cause aesthetic discomfort and affect self-confidence.

Surgical Procedure

The treatment of gynecomastia depends on the cause of tissue accumulation:

  • Liposuction: used if the volume increase is caused by excess fat.
  • Surgical excision: recommended in the case of excess glandular tissue, performed through a small incision.

In cases where the removal of a larger volume of tissue and possibly skin is required, the incisions will be more extensive to ensure an optimal aesthetic result.

Healing

Postoperative edema usually disappears after 2 – 4 weeks. The final result of the procedure can be observed after approximately 2 – 4 months. Postoperative scars fade over several months, becoming almost invisible.

It is important to note that significant subsequent weight gain may lead to recurrence of the enlarged appearance of the breasts.

Results

Surgery for gynecomastia provides a natural masculine appearance of the chest, restoring the proportions and aesthetic contour of the chest.
